Hi :)

I've been having the same problem with my PC for months now. The PC randomly freezes to the point where I have to manually restart the PC and it can often change the boot disk priorty so I have to change it back to my SSD being the boot up device. It can freeze in a matter of minutes hours or can take days.

Ive taken it to 2 different Computer shops to get it diagnosed. One claimed to have fixed the problem and the problem still persisted. The other said it was the motherboard, sent it off to OcUK as an RMA and OcUK said theres nothing wrong with the mobo.

Has anybody heard of this problem before? or can advise me on testing methods I might not yet have tried?

Specs:

(Not Overclocked)
AMD 1090T x6
Asus Crosshair IV Formula
Vertex 2E 120GB
2x 2TB Samsung F4's
ATI Radeon HD5970
4GB Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz
1200W Coolermaster Pro Gold
Megahalems Cooler w/ 1x Asaka Viper Fan

Any help would be appreciated please as it has been persisting for about 5 months now.

Thanks

Mehmet

Might be the SSD, seen people complain of these symtoms due to dodgy SSDs..

Run stress tests for both the CPU and GPU and run Memtest over night to test the memory. Also keep an eye on the CPU and GPU temps. Try to keep the CPU below 65/70 degrees and the GPU below 90. This should rule out these componants if they don't cause any problems during testing.

Hi equalizer

This seems to be similar to a problem i had a while ago, it turned out that it was something to do with win7.

If you are using windows 7 go into the power options and change it to high performance. This was my issue, i was using balance settings and for some reason my computer hung up while in this mode and by changing it i havent ever had this issue occur in over 18 months now and it would happen 2-3 tmies a week before

altho this never altered my boot priority but was the cause of my windows freeze

hmmm then this is indeed a dilly of a pickle, i'm no lawnmower man and just going by personal experience but let me get home from work and get some thinking juice from the fridge ;) and have a look-see.

In the meantime im sure theres smarter/more qualified ppl that can help out, in fact im sure there are :D

*edit* made sure your bios is latest version?
