Need help reading a IMG data file for elevation data

Already had a quick look and the closest I came up with was;

http://cms.sbcounty.gov/gis/FTPServices.aspx

If the government site doesn't have it chances are it isn't online yet.

Stupidly uses FTP so I've requested access to confirm if its covered.

Edit: Meh 18kbs for a 200mb file :(. I dont want to help that much :D.

Here are the User and Password.

User Name = gisftp

Password= 1sbcftp1

If you are going to use a FTP application like Filezilla, use the following settings:

Host = gis1.sbcounty.gov

Protocol = FTP - File Transfer Protocol

Encryption = Use Plain FTP

Logon Type = Normal

User = gis1.sbcounty.gov|gisftp

Password= 1sbcftp1

Transfer Mode = Passive

If you want to do it yourself.

downloaded filezilla, no idea how to work it tho but im sure ill figure this out haha

just keeps saying error could not connect.

whats this thing do iv actually no idea what im doin here :D haha or what it is supposed to do.

:D alright;

download;
http://www.coreftp.com/download/coreftplite.exe

install then open :eek:.

gis1.sbcounty.gov - in host/ip/url
gisftp - in hostname
1sbcftp1 - in password

Dont touch anything else as it should be right already and click connect. On the right hand side is the files on the server on the left if your system folders.

Find the directory on the left you want to save them in and find the right file on the right, right click it and "download".

Ooo sweet, its downloading cheers :)

any idea which one I need to download? jeeeeze 20kb/s

so far im just downloadin the lot but this will take weeks lol

Yeah they really splashed out on their broadband :(.

Honestly dont know. All I know is its touted as GIS data which hopefully includes topographical.

Shame this sort of thing isn't on P2P. Could have downloaded all 600mb by now.

haha I know, and okay cheers dude :)

top man for finding all this for me! I guess ill set this up on the laptop and leave it downloading overnight :)

19 hrs it will take. damn

56k dial up eat ya heart out

:( best I can find is 1/3 arc seconds :(.

Ill have another crack at finding it later.

Maybe offer the guy who has it £15? :D

Lol I offered him 40, he wont share!

also, you got the link for 1/3 arc sec? idealy need 1/9 but ill take any I can get of this area right now :D haha

The 1/3 arcs are on the site you linked to in first post. When you hit download select the top option drop the rectangle and it gives you a load of choices.

Now for £40 I could be persuaded to give you the secret link I have yet to find :D.
