Already been said but raid 0+1 is the best way to go for performance and safety. The raptors are overpriced and TBH if you have a raid 0 setup you wont notice the difference between the raptors and a 7200rpm drive (except the latter will be a lot queiter). Just make sure they have 16mb cache and they should be fine.
