This is important to knowing if your current system can take these parts without needing more upgrades.
The below GPU is really aimed at 1440p, but it can do 4K with upscaling in newer games and should be fine with older games.
DDR4 is getting awkward to buy now because the price has gone up, so I've gone with a DDR5 build. If you can get some DDR4 cheap from somewhere, that's still very much viable.
It is worth considering an upgrade to a 9600K or better on your current board, see here:
Note that if you do upgrade, there have been reports of 5000 series cards having issues with older systems, so I'd look at switching to a 9060 XT 16GB instead.
@spudrocky: That 4K dream with a 700 budget’s tight, mate – not impossible, but you’ll need to be clever. First: CPU + GPU both need a serious bump. Maybe look for a used Ryzen 5 5600 + RX 6700 XT combo, they punch above their weight. Also, 16GB RAM is a must. SSD too small, OS + 1–2 games max. Honestly, I’d go 1440p for now and get smoother frames without wrecking your wallet. What’s your PSU and case like?
