What sorts of things would happen if the cookers were wired up incorrectly, assuming that the property already had a modern consumer unit with circuit breakers.
The cookers are surrounded by insulation & foil inside and I've seen many cookers catch fire has the circuit breaker goes off.
Last year my mate spotted that a wrong size cable was being fitted to a dual oven cooker but our bosses told us to let them go.
About 2000 were sent out when one was fried in our lab.
You've probably noticed that nearly all electrical equipment comes with a sealed plug.
This is due in part to a mate of mine who had no idea how to wire a plug.
He had wired about 5000 plugs but he'd never been told how to do it.
He thought you could put the wires in any of the 3 holes

There was a such a panic that it helped spark a Govt debate and companies had to fit sealed plugs with access to a fuse.
