ok Vista crashed as it does with no responding programs, so I hit reset and now im just stuck on the first white screen. I've plugged in my PS/2 keyboard, but even that wont let me get into the bios by pressing DEL.

I tried reseting the motherboard and that won't work to. It's just dead! All I get is the first screen that says gigabyte and niether KB works.

I've got to use the bloody Wii to type and get online =(

Have you tried unplugging from the mains and leaving the battery out for 4 or 5 hours?

And Vista shouldn't crash in an unresponsive way. That sounds like a hardware failure. For all it's driver issues, the one thing Vista doesn't do, is crash and leave you with a dead system. Even when NVidia couldn't get the video drivers stable, the system just said it had recovered from a serious error and dropped you down to a stock MS driver with no Aero.

Also - have you tried booting off the spare BIOS - Try holding down F9 when you boot up, but the more I think about it, the more it sounds like a hardware failure.

Nah it didn't work. Do I have to short the pins out as well as take out the battery? If so then that means I've gotta wait another 5 hours try it again lol. Any other advise on what I could do?

Nah just removing the battery is enough.

It's possible that the POST is stuck at the memory test. Power on and hit Tab as many times as you can in the first 10 seconds to see if the POST screen will come up.

No that didn't work, thanks anyway.

What did work though is I taken one stick of ram out and it booted, so then I put the other back and taken the other out and that worked, so I put them both back and that won't work. So now I figured they won't work together. So I took one out and now it's back to not working again. If that makes sense.

To cut a story short, I got it working with one stick of ram, but now it's back to not working whether I've got one or 2 sticks in. (but i don't get any dodgy sounding beeps when the ram is in)

I've checked my fans, while I'm stuck on this screen they are all on apart from the graphics card fan

Edit: Got all the fans working, still same problem. Mega stuck.
