Hello! I have exactly 1k to spend in the next two weeks to replace my dieing PC. (Before i go back to university) You can go under budget, just not over!

I will mainly be using it for online FPS, MMORPGs and watcing movies... So i would ideally like to include an 8800gts (no plans for SLI as i will probably upgrade this more frequently), 20-22" widesceen monitor and quad core. There is no need to include a keyboard, mouse, mat or speakers.

I'm not an expert on overclocking but i would consider it.

However, if possible could you recommend a set of headphones and TV turner? But not to be included in the current build as i will add these @ a later date.

Many thanks!

If you can spare another £42.05 on top of your budget you can get a GTX which should give you a significant boost.

Quick reply! Thanks.

What do you think of the Samsung spoinpoint T166 HD501LJ (500GB)? I had read it loads quicker then raptors... Well, for a lab test in this magazine^?

Most tests show the AAKS series from Western Digital as the fastest 7200 RPM disks. There's plenty of headroom in the spec I posted above for expansion. You could get larger/more hard disks. You could get more RAM. It's up to you. :)

Just over a £1,000 mark, but for that you get a 22" monitor and a 8800 GTX :)

However, if possible could you recommend a set of headphones and TV turner?
For the headphones I've recommend some , as these are well received and apparantly very good.

Is the gtx really worth the extra cash?! I would like to think i'll upgrade this part with the new series around the corner.

What are your veiws on the Samsung Synchmaster 226BW?!

Also... that case seems a bit dull. So i was thinking maybe the Thermaltake VC3000BWS Armour Jr SuperMidi Tower - Black!

But thanks!
