Need help with colour code please!

Hi guys,

Looking to buy some paint to touch up a bit of damage on my Ford Focus.

I've tried searching for the colour code inside the driver's door jam as suggested online, but the only thing resembling a sticker with info on it has warn away to nothing.

I have found my VIN number - is there anyone that knows a way to get the colour using that? anything online where i can enter it to get the code?

Could do with finding it out today if at all possible :/

My colour is Moondust Silver (Metallic) and i checked online and Halfords seem to stock a spray paint in that colour for Fords.

The damage i am trying to cover is a about the size of a 2 pence on my wing mirror where i have scraped a wall.

Are there several shades of my colour or should i be ok covering such a small area with the stuff from Halfords?

Any advice appreciated.
