Currently I have a 64 Gb Crucial C300 as my windows drive, a 2 Tb Seagate LP as a backup drive with all my data on it, and two older Samsung F3s that I wanted to raid.

When I enable Raid 0 on the samsungs, my PC no longer boots up into windows as it cant find the boot drive.

I saw in windows setup that despite installing windows to the SSD, it still makes a 100 Mb partition on one of the Samsung drives that it requires to boot from. I tried to format both samsung drives and the SSD, setting the C300 as the primary drive in the bios first, but it still creates a 100 mb system partition on one of the Samsung drives.

How do I set it up to boot purely from the SSD, without having to require one of the samsung drives?

If there's nothing important on the SSD then...

  1. Disconnect all of the drives except the SSD.
  2. Re-install Windows 7.
  3. Reconnect the other drives and configure them as you want.

I'd guess that you previously had the OS installed on one of the F3s and it was still connected when you installed Windows to the SSD.

Correct, thats what I did wrong.

I didnt realise that Windows was still installing the boot files to the previous boot drive even after a full format, I'll try that out whenever I can be bothered to open the case again.

Theres nothing important on the SSD or Samsung drives, everythings backed up to the 2 Tb, so I can just wipe the F3s again then disconnect them, and try reinstalling Windows to the SSD.

Ok, I have it setup now - booting entirely from the SSD, and the F3s set to Raid 0, but they dont detect in windows. I've installed all the motherboard drivers but I only have my SSD and Seagate drive visible.

I found in device management, but cant find what to do with it to get it working:

Ok nvm, I got it working now :)
