I just built my new pc

I installed windows 7 but i cant get my gtx570 to work. the fans are spinning but when i connect my hdmi into it nothing appears on the screen.. if i plug the hdmi into the motherboards hdmi input it shows the screen.

I have gone to graphics options and it doesn't show my gtx570 only the intergrated gpu thingy. (Asus P8Z68-V PRO)

Does anybody know how to disable the onboard gpu so i can use my gtx 570 as as my main graphics.

Edit: I'm using 6 pin power connector for the gtx570. should i plug in the other 2 pin connector to it or not ?

Thanks

i'll ask the basic questions first:

are all the power cables plugged into the motherboard and the graphics card? (there should be two power cables going into the graphics card, and at least two going into the motherboard)

have you installed the latest graphics card drivers, and motherboard drivers?

*edit*
just seen your edit. yes, you need to make sure every hole on the GTX 570 has something going into it, otherwise it wont get enough power. i believe you need a 6 pin and an 8 pin (or a 6 pin and a 6+2 pin) power lead for it, but i could be wrong here

I have the Cpu power plugged in. the main motherboard power. the other power cables to the optical drive/hdd and then i took the modular 6/8 pin connector plugged that into the PSU and then the other end into the GTX570.
Edit: I cant do any graphics card updates or install the gfx card disc because it says it cant detect any Nvidia device.

yes i only have 1 connected.. should i go get the other 6/8pin and connect it?

Ok thanks i will go try that now and see how i get on :) Will let you know in a mo.
