Need help with my new CPU! 5$ Reward

So basically, I got a new CPU, the AMD Phenom II X4 Black 3.0ghz 8MB cache CPU. I also researched and it says it's compatible with my motherboard.

My motherboard is Foxconn A74ML-K 3.0.

When I change my CPU in my motherboard, it fits perfect.
However, when I start my computer up, it says;

CPU MISMATCH, FATAL ERROR! System Halt!

And I can't proceed any further, I can't activate BIOS before or after it says that.

I have tried clearing CMOS, I have tried updating BIOS with FoxLiveUpdate and it says it's up to date!

I need help, if anyone actually helps me to get this working, I shall gift you 5$ through paypal, I know it's not much, but hey, you've helped :)

If you need any further information about this problem, please ask and I will tell you!
Replies will be instant!

Thanks for resolving my problem, but I would have thought I could BIOS update, ahh well, new motherboard it is :)
Thanks everyone for your help!

Try and insure the new board is AM3+ so its more future proof, and also check the CPU support list before hand to make sure your CPU will work.

If you are going for a new motherboard then I would suggest sending the CPU back if its possible (if you bought it new you can return it under DSR) and go for a new board and CPU entirely.

Ideally an Intel Sandy Bridge i5 Quad core and Z68 board.

Yea, the 960T is 95W - so that isn't a problem. The problem is that is a newer core design than the boards BIOS is designed to support - so it won't work. It is possible foxconn will add support for these CPUs with a future BIOS update, but that is increasingly unlikely since AMD are moving to Bulldozer CPUs now.

May I ask, did you buy the chip retail or second hand/fleebay?

Yeah I would love to be able to buy a whole new motherboard and i5, but I simply don't have the money, and I'm only an average gamer and ATi 6870 and AMD X4 is more than enough for me :D

Thanks for all your help, I'm so greatful :)
