Need help with new card!

Which card to get, 6950/480 or 5870?

hi guys got about £280 to spend on new graphics card and psu! could possibly stretch to £300.

been looking at these:

5870 (seems great value for high performance)
GTX 480 (£50 more and only slight performance increase over the 5870?)
6950

will also need a psu not really looking to do an eyefinity setup or sli/crossfire just yet!

5870 is only £150, leaving more than enough money for a 600Wish Power supply and maybe a few games

Corsair HX 750W ATX @ £123.98 seems like a popular choice.

I have seen these float around as Solid Power Supplys for the money,

Still leaving plenty of money, so it depends if you have specific brand loyalty, but OCZ, Corsair are from what i have heard the best. I'm still stuck on the Coolermaster Power supply that came with my case

Rather than 5870 at £150, see if you want find GTX560TI 1GB or 6950 1GB for around £160. Out of the box, both cards are around same speed as 5870 (might be a little bit faster), but both cards are far more overclockable than the 5870.

Its the non Ti Cards that are £160. But a fair point, unsure how they compare to a 5870.

im still using a crappy 1440x900 monitor so i think any of these cards will be overkill but will be getting a 24" soon so will be good for the future! So you guys think i should stick with a 5870 or go with something else? as they are getting cheaper now would be nice to do a crossfire in the coming months!
