After a lot of input from these forums, ive decided to go for the following spec, the only 2 things im not sure on is the mobo + ram. The PC is simply for gaming.
Heres what i have so far. Willing to spend about £50 more on upgrading the mobo/ram if need be.

I think that looks a nice spec. I would be very happy to go with that.

If you're thinking about a serious overclock, then take a look at the reviews for the Biostar P45, supposed to be a very good clocker, but like I said that spec looks great.

I did look at that board but one of the reviewers said "CPU overclock slightly higher than gigabyte but lower than P5Q." So opted for the p5q

na stick woth the ASUS got me to 4.3 (stable) on air!!!!!!!! maybe get the deluxe as it makes cable management eaisier but its more expensive. also personaly i dont like the case but thats personal opinion, last but not least, for another £50ish you could get an HD 4890 which, for games will be soooo much better

Can i ask, how does it make cable management easier? havnt looked into it.
£850 is really my budget so something like this?

basicly the SATA ports and some others face sideways rather than up so the cables dont have to bend over the board, and if your using it for games the extra £50 will be sooooo worth it!

P5Q Pro is quite a good board; my mate has an E8400 @ 4ghz on his.

If you're going to go for a Radeon 4890 bear in mind they're quite loud under load. If you're gaming with the speakers up or headphones on, you won't notice though.

I think the Pro is good enough. I wouldn't bother with the extra for the deluxe.

Sorted then, have headphones so sound shouldnt be a problem. Thanks all for the help :D

Planning to order it end of this week.

Regarding the mobo choice. Either the one i currently picked http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-280-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1155 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-277-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1155

Both Asus P5Q just one has less sata + only 1 pci x16. I only game at 1650 x 1080 so i dont think crossfire is worth it at that resoultion right?

If thats the case you reckon the cheaper mobo would be more ideal?

Also i wouldnt need to flash the bios for it to recongise the mobo right?

Im also thinking of changing the PSU, what do you think? is the Coolermaster one fine? or should i get a differant make or high watt.

Last thing is regarding the CPU Cooler. Would this one be fine as well? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-002-SB just a bit cheaper.

I'd go with the pro over the standard P5Q, the 20+4 pin connection is in an awkward place on the standard, cable management would be a lot harder, probably needing to go over the graphics card.

The bios that comes with the board should be fine for taking the E8400.

The coolermaster PSU is fine, definietely no need for more power, 620W is more than enough for a 4890.

The tuniq is a good cooler, I've got mine on an E8400, keeps the temps nice and cool. The noctua is regarded as one of the best coolers, but does come at a higher price.
