need help with some dimensions

there is a small lagoon near me . i want to find out the length of the section i've marked. what would it be in meters

i spoke to the council and its this image they sent me. the only other info is that the approx area of the lagoon and beach is 21000 sqm

You need to know a scale.

Either-

measure it on google earth

ask the council for another image but with included scale bar

or ask me nicely to load up digimap and get an exact reading if you tell me where it is. However, I'm off out in a bit and can't be arsed

I'd go for the google earth method, there's a measure tool

when i zoom in with google maps there is no detail (we dont have imagery for this level)

will this matter with google earth, it uses the same images doesnt it?

Sometimes you get a bit more with google earth... Try it and see. Do you need an accurate measurement? What's it for?

Are you able to visit the site? If you were to measure the width of one of the houses you could scale from that. i.e. if no.20 is 10m across, the dimension on the lagoon would be 160m or so.

It's twice the length from the middle to the end.

Is your house included on the map? Could you measure your house and go from there?
