Got this card delivered today from here. Plugged everything in and device manager confirms that.

I'm downloading the drivers recommended by windows as the ones from the disk are only for vista and windows.

Once the loading bar reaches the end I get a message saying "please plug in asus xonar dx soundcard". Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Thanks.

I have the exact same problem, only it doesn't even show up in device manager & I have the D2X :/

I had a similar problem like yours but im using xonar DG when i first got mine. I ended up fixing mine by swapping the card to a different PCI slot and installing the drivers that way.

Ah okay, I only have one PCI slot for the sound card.

Hmm im not sure then mate sorry. You could try taking it out and placing it back in the PCI slot again. Ive had it a few times where i boot up my windows and sometimes it just totally doesn't recognized the card and i have no sound. Taking it out and putting it back in and then rebooting usually somes the problem.

Maybe if you try reseat it again it might install the drivers.

As above make sure its in a PCie slot, can be used in a PCIe slot used for GPU's too, and make sure the floppy power cable is plugged in and getting power.

Fixed it now, just restarted it and it took about 20 minutes "configuring updates". It then BSOD, rebooted and worked. Very strange.

Got a slight problem. When playing music through iTunes/Spotify occasionally the music will only play out of one speaker for 2/5 seconds. I never got this when i use the onboard soundcard on my mobo. Anyone know why this happens?
