hi guys i have a problem i have built a pc for the son it has a gigabyte ga-945p-s3 mboard an a intel duecore 6300 with standard intel cooler my problem is this , i started it up to go into the bios for the first time and the cooler fan spins when i push the start button but stops after a few seconds all other parts seem to start up ok and i then switch off imeadiatly to protect the chip thing is iwanted to get it running for christmas day so any help woul be great

That's normal. It's controlled by heat. If the motherboard decides the CPU is cool enough then it can turn the fan off to keep the system quiet.

Set the fan control to Legacy and PWM in the bios and after a restart the fan should stay on.
