NEED HELP ! :(

I can't remember what the manual says (I'm still at work 
) but is it a case that, for powering the mobo, you use a 24pin connector and the 4pin 12V ATX or use a 20pin connector and an 8 pin one....???
Just wondering if i've plugged too may wires in..... You see, the Hiper comes with a 20-pin connector with another 4-pins (on the same wiring loom) that "connect" with the 20-pin connector to fit the 24-pin socket. Is this right or should the 4-pins go into the 12V ATX socket on the other side of the mobo?? There is a seperate 4-pin cable from the PSU that fits into the 12V ATX socket, but I'm just wondering if that's what I've done wrong.....

You shouldn't try powering up your system without the ATX12V connector, it's a dedicated supply of extra power for the CPU and you might be causing damage to your components whilst this isn't connected. Just a word of warning 
You should be using the 24-pin ATX P1 motherboard power connector for the main motherboard power, and the seperate (yellow/black wires) ATX12V power connector in the seperate 4-pin ATX12V input block.
Have you tried powering up with only one stick of RAM installed in the motherboard? If the problem persists, swap it over for the other module and try again - this can help eliminate a bad RAM stick.
Is your PSU a 'known good' PSU? Have you used it OK on another system or is it brand new, and maybe DOA?
Have you tried to power the system up with all unnecessary devices disconnected, ie your hard drive(s), ROM drives etc., as a faulty hard drive, for example, can trip your PSU's protection circuitry and prevent it from powering your system to the POST stage.

Id do a search, im sure someone else had this problem with a Gigabyte board, when they took the 12v job out theres powered up as well, with it in was a no go, i'll have a look around myself and if i can find it again ill link to it.
Sounds a bit like this , when he didn't have the 4 pin in it booted as well, but hes RMA'd the board, id try as suggested in there, a cheapo stick of Ram to see if you do have the memory voltage prob, then if you get it up and running with the cheapo stick you can up the voltage in the BIOS so you can get your Geil up and running.
Does sound like a faulty board though, as the Geil's running perfect for me, booted up first time when i put it together, so i cant see it being the voltage problem, so id be pointing to the board, but you never know so a cheapo stick is worth a try, may as well rule it out before you RMA it, just in case they find it fine and send it back to you.

Have now got some power coming into the mobo (no ram in yet just mobo powered) with the Hiper PSU but get continuous beeps ("power error" in manual) before it restarts.
No activity on the CPU fan either. Reset CMOX and still nought.

Make sure the tuniq tower heatsink isnt on too tight if it is it might be stopping it from posting. Just tighten enough so the heatsink doent move about, hope this helps ps i got almost the exact spec u have a week or so ago the geil ram worked first time with the ds3 so that shouldnt be the problem.
pps its normal for the ds3 to start up then stop then start up properly.
