okay basically i need a new gaming machine. but im trying to decide should i go for :
1) second hand q6600 + ddr2 1066 4gb ram
2) lga 1156 quad cpu + ddr3 4gb ram
3) i7 720 + ddr3 ram
gtx 480 / 5970 / next gen gpu
all quad core, but is there a big difference in gaming performance between em? is there bottle neck for high end gpu like gtx 480 / 5970 / next gen gpu
im just trying to figure out is the ageing q6600 still good enough for the high end gpus, and if its worth it to buy new gear over second hand stuff.
might help:
i play mostly fps games, currently css, cod mw2, tf2
most likely to get a 24/26" (maybe the dell 30") monitor for new build.
