I built a custom computer with 2 HDD's

The first HD is an OCZ SSD 64GB for windows booting

And the 2nd HD is a 500gb Storage drive. I have been having problems as whenever i download anything it saves to the SSD.

I've changed the registry to the Storage drive file path and still nothing :(

Anyone have any good idea's on how i can do this as i want downloaded files to go to my storage drive?

Thanks

Just tell your browser to save to your second drive? I always just tell firefox where to put downloaded files as I often file them away.

What program are you using for downloads? are we talking internet browser http downloads here, or torrents?

Internet browser.

My SSD has Dan/Downloads when i download

But my secondary drive has nothing on there. Can i just download it to my Storage drive then install it on my storage drive?

Thanks !!

Which browser are you using?

Have you tried setting the download location within the 'Options settings' of your browser?

yes just make a new folder on your d: drive and call it something like "downloads", them point your browser to use that folder.

As said above, any programs used for downloads will have a 'Save file to:' or 'Download Location:' or something similar in the options so just have a look and then change it to 'E:\Downloads' or something.

How to change download location on:

Firefox

Chrome

Safari

IE 9

You could also move the windows 7 "downloads" folder so that any app looking for it will find it on the new drive.

1 Open Windows explorer
2 Right click “Downloads” in the left pane
3 Choose properties
4 On “Shortcut” tab, change the target to the location you want
5 Click “OK”
