Hey guys, I have a main question to ask

Will a Corsair H50-1 (water cooler) fit inside a Antec 300 case ?

At the moment my system is inside a Coolermaster Elite 334 Midi Case.
I know, This is a VERY amateur build and there is NO cable management at all.
everything is Squeezed into this case and i am going to add ram, storage and a bigger case.

Any tips you guys can give me on how to improve this case apart from the obvious bigger case and cable management, Thanks.

My system is:

  • AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 640 3.00GHz (Socket AM3)
  • Powercool 750w
  • Corsair H50-1
  • HIS HD 5770 turbo
  • Asus M4A77T/USB3 AMD 770 AM3 Motherboard
  • Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit

With your current case you could move the dvd drive down one and move the cables into the space above. Also purchase some cable ties.

I think there may be space behind the HDD tray system were you see the cables for font connections.

Yeh, Good idea on the optical drive positioning.

As for the 100 case its taller than the 300 but the 300 is wider.

and its only £10 difference

do I need hieght or width. Its only about an Each difference, but every inch counts i guess.

not to sure about the powercool psu id replace that if it was my rig

Yeh, At time I had already gone over my budget so I just got a cheap one that would power the system. So far its done me well and the only problem I had was that I needed the converter to hook up the mother board.

The Antec300 is not a £50 case, when it first came out years ago (yes its that old!) it was £30-35 and has slowly been creeping up into the £50 mark.

Are you saying that because of its popularity the price has went up ?

Would you say the Coolermaster HAF 912 Plus is a £60 case ?

Its popularity isnt that high now that it is at £50:D, the Antec100, Coolermaster elite430 get more specced now for a £35-40 case.

And yes the HAF is a £56 case, its better built, more fans supplied as standard, superior cooling.

I have an antec 300 and yes you could fit a Corsair H50-1 in it. I got it when it was about £40 and the way the price is now, there are better cases. The antec 300 has no cable management and is actually quite small when trying to make everything look tidy (and I have a modular PSU). If you can stretch to it the HAF 912 is much better.
