Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on a decision for me. I want to upgrade my RAM in my computer to the most i can. I have win7 64bit and it says my max capacity of RAM is 8g but when I used crucial.com to see what RAM to use or what specs it said i could only do 4g, is that because it is going by a 32bit OS not 64bit. My computer is a Pakard Bell iXtreme y5820 but i have upgraded most of it new GPU, new PSU and case. Just wondered before buying if anyone can help?

Thanks

Try to find out what motherboard model you have and how big RAM-DIMMs it'll take in each slot. That's what matters - not what Crucial say. :)

It's max 2g per slot and that it's 240 pin. So ill be on the hunt for PC2-5300 or faster. Gonna look for pc2-6400 or 8300 dopending on price. What is a reliable brand for memory?
