for some reason windows 10 from my knowledge is randomly upgrading from my windows 7. i dont want windows 10 update so i turned off my computer mid instal so i went back on windows 7 desktop and now it is saying when i do computer shutdown it will instal the important updates to windows 10. does anyone know how i can cancel the updates from happening on reset or shutdown

I don't think you can once you have accepted the Windows 10 update. Let it complete however and you can still roll back to Windows 7.

i still have windows 7 key and disc. will the same key id let me go back to windows 7?

Yes of course. Failing that the Windows 10 install can be rolled back.

Once you're back on Win 7, either by rolling back or (probably a better option) by taking the opportunity for a clean install, install GWX Control Panel to permanently kill any unwanted Win 10 upgrade nags or "helpful" automatic downloads/updates.
