Hi guys so i’ve build my pc and i have a INTEL I5-10400F (10th gen) 6 core and a Gigabyte B560M DS3H V2 motherboard and i’m having roubles getting a video display on my monitor, i’ve tried everything including replacing the RAM, taking the GPU out and taking the Drives out and limiting it and still nothing, i can’t get anything and it’s really annoying, please will somebody help. thanks

Just to verify, we tried two different monitors both I know work.
HDMI Leads
DVI Leads
USB-C Leads

Removed the RAM and tried single sticks in all slots (with both RAM Sticks)
Changed the RAM to another brand (known good from another build)
Removed M2 drive to eliminate any issues there
Removed SATA Drive to eliminate any issues there

Tried with GPU Installed (again with all cables)
Tried with NO GPU Installed again with all the different cable types

I am stumped as to why we do not have any video output whatsoever??

I am dealing with the same issue with different components. Most of my research so far has folks loading the most current BIOS after clearing the CMOS. Could be a good direction to try

If you're not getting a display then can you try a known good GPU in that setup and put the GPU that's not working into another? It's possible you've got a mismatch with the BIOS level and you may need to confirm the card works in another setup first. If it does then update the BIOS on the one that's not working with a working card and try again.

You may not have connected up the additional power cables for the GPU either. If you have a modular PSU, are you able to plug the cables into a different output connector or make sure they're definitely plugged in properly?

Thinking about it, you could have a PSU issue if it's not giving enough juice out to all the components during post, but I'd expect you'd get at least a display and then a crash unless it's really faulty or underpowered.

You really need known good parts to swap in / out to pinpoint the issue down.

Edit: Also, if that GPU card has multiple outputs, try the one that's closest to the board or then the ones that's closest to the outside. One will be a primary port and you may be using the wrong one.

I would also switch everything off at the wall and then back on again when you try again - even the monitor. Some monitors get stuck in deep sleep if they're left in standby for a long time (Dell U2419H etc) just to rule out the monitor too!

You need to work with barebones and take it from there. So CPU, ram and motherboard only. Replace it each part to see if it will post.

You can look up the CPU support list for your motherboard and find the cheapest CPU with integrated graphics, just get used from eBay/CEX.

Are you sure there are no bent CPU pins on the motherboard?

so i found a old speaker from one of my old pcs and connected it up and it worked and i got 5 beeps but the 5 beeps doesn’t relate to anything on the beep error manual, so what do i do now?
  • 5 short beep : CPU error.

  • Check if the CPU is powered by 8 pins. connector must be fully engaged.
Check if the CPU is installed correctly. The keys must match.
Check the integrity of the pins on the socket.
If all of the above is ok.
    Disconnect everything from the motherboard

What GPU do you use to display the image?

could you try and explain that again please, i didn’t quite get what you meant, and i’m using a Nvidia GTX 1660 super GPU but i get no display anyway because of the beeps error. thanks

5 beeps means CPU error.
That is, the motherboard does not work with it.

Is the CPU power connected?
Is the CPU correctly installed in the socket?
Are there any defects in the socket (bent pins)?

the motherboard definitely definitely supports my CPU, and i’ll have to check tomorrow afternoon about the CPU power and will have to take my water block off and check the CPU is fitted correctly, and do you mean bent pins on the BOARD where the CPU plugs in to or pins on the CPU? thanks

Yes exactly.
You need to check the status of the socket on the motherboard.

But before that. Check if CPU power is connected? As in the picture below.
