I thought that because the internet section is in the hardware section, it would be a unsuitable place to post. Anyway, thanks to whoever moved it.

I can't get cable where I live, I can only get 1 mbps. ADSL

I mainly just go on the web, however I do torrent/download stuff and game. And I've noticed tiscali give me slightly higher latencies than wanadoo did.

I'm willing to pay around £20-25 max

with AOL do you still have to use their horrible browser? I remember my friend complaining about how much AOL sucked back in the days of dial up.
I must be blind where is the internet section on here ?

Er, this forum?
It is called Networks and Internet Connectivity...

To what extent though?
It would be a good idea to install DUMeter (or something like it, there's been plenty threads asking for software to monitor connection utilisation) and see how much you actually use. Your current ISP should give some statistics too.

If nothing else, if you can stick within a limit you'll find the price coming down significantly...

I've got Eclipse at uni and Kingston at home, don't have problems with either! Kingston's customer service is superb, you ring their local number for free inside the Kingston network and speak to a person very quickly, who can solve any manner of problems. Not had to speak to Eclipse yet though... How long have they been joined?

Not to long to wait though. One of my exchanges gets enabled in February and i am changing to be* as soon as its enabled. It will be my third line with them.

Whats so good about be* ? As I'm sure I've seen people post on here with bad experiences.

Firstly, they are pretty much truly unlimited. No download caps, port throttling etc. You can download hundreds of gigabytes a month no problem.

Secondly, they provide the highest possible adsl speeds available. 24meg/1.3meg. Also speeds are solid throughout the day unlike most adsl max services. The pings are pretty good aswell.

They are also cheap. £24 a month for unlimited.

The customer support is pretty good aswell. It is foreign but i have had all my questions answered well.

I also have not experiences much downtime and all maintenance work is done really early in the morning and you are notified by e-mail.

Obviously some people will have had problems, but all my experiences with them have been very positive.

^^ thanks for the info, just had a be* rep call me saying my exchange will be enabled end of march so looks like I'll be moving over asap :D

EDIT: dont fancy learning hindu or punjabi for support though :p
