Decided on a E2180 cpu. Don't want to spend a fortune as I have an AMD Dual Core 4200 at the moment but I need to change motherboards. Not enough SATA ports and also for some reason Vista would never install on this board. Gigabyte GA-M61VME. Anyway, decided if I was going to change the board I may as well jump ship to Intel, which I have wanted to do for a while now. The E2180 is not the fastest chip around but I have heard it overclocks well so will give me a toe in the water so to speak.

Problem at the moment is what motherboard to go with it. I'm not intending to overclock to any astronomical amount but would like to see 3Ghz if possible.

So with value for money in mind I was looking at :
Foxconn P35AX-S
OcUK Value IP35-S
Asrock 4Core1333-eSATA2 R5.0

That would keep my total spend under £100.

So any thoughts on those three ? Do you think I can overclock to 3Ghz without any problem with them ?

Many thanks

ive got the ocuk p35 pro board and with the latest bios its quite good and the s is meant to be virtually the same board but without solid caps, dual glan and dual bios. Should easily get 3ghz and has the advantage of the extra 2 mem slots over the foxconn board. The asrock board is probs one to steer clear of as it probs wont do much on the fsb front.

Thanks guys. So will ditch the Asrock then. The Foxconn has the P35 chipset. Is that not better than the Gigabyte's 630i ? Or are they much of a sameness ?
