my current set up is ryzen 5600x 16 gb ram ..current gpu is msi gefroce gtx 1060 6gb gaming x any recommendation of a upgrade budget is £500 ..many thanks

Would wait a bit for 4000 series to come out I think - even if you don't get a new gpu might find that second hand prices on current gpus drop.

If you wanted a new gpu right now I think an rx 6700 (non-xt version) for £330 might be the best value option. Would get great 1080p performance and reasonable at 1440p. Seems driver optimisation is not great and it performs similarly to the 6600xt in some games, but normally these things get improved so in time it should do a fair bit better...

not been reviewed many places i guess as it's a mid range offering near the end of this series' life cycle, but looks decent here for example:

for higher performance at 1440p then an rx 6800 for £530 might be the best new option?

I guess an RTX 3070 from Nvidia at £520 is comparable too:

Assuming your case has room and psu is at least 650W.

MSI GeForce RTX 3060 VENTUS 3X 12G OC Gaming Graphics Card - 12GB GDDR6, 1807 MHz, PCI Express Gen 4, 192-bit, 3x DP v 1.4a, HDMI 2.1 (Supports 4K) would this be ok with my ryzen 5600x ? i can get it brand new for about £240

if you can get a New 3060 for £240 ish at a reputable place then get it but it just seems to cheap as no other shop is selling 3060 for anywhere near that price.

just want a fast gpu ..i currently have msi geforce gtx 1060 6gb gaming x can get £180 of anycard but must be from amazon ..my cpu is ryzen 5600x (maybe you can recommend me a better one ?

If your work/company is paying towards the gpu then I assume you'll be using it in part for work from home....

What type of stuff will you be using your pc for? The reason I ask is if you're using software which can make use of cuda then suggesting an AMD card is pretty pointless.

Either way I'd still wait until 20th September, that's tomorrow, when Nvidia have an event on.... at the very least it should help confirm if the 3000 series will get any more price drops or if nvidia intend to inflate the prices of 4xxx series by leaving the 3xxx series out etc...

no its for a gaming pc (just want something decent) that can play anything at 1080p and 1440p ..i'm not kean on amd , what you think of this MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GAMING X 8G LHR Gaming Graphics Card - 8GB GDDR6, 1770MHz, PCI Express Gen 4, 256-bit, 3x DP v 1.4a, HDMI 2.1 (Supports 4K)

I would not be buying ANY gpu at this moment in time for the reasons I said in my post.

You're also breaking forum rules linking to a competitor.
oopz ..just that i need a gpu urgent , so got not much choice but to get one next few days

Any reason why please?

You've already picked them over Intel; I'd argue that the same sentiments that would have led you to that choice may be valid in the GPU domain.

Bang-for-buck is a lot easier to find right now among AMD GPUs.

With that said, just buy whatever - I'm sure you'll be happy :)

because our other pc kind of died ..so using my current gpu in a new build and need new one for mine , thats all

AMD offer the best bang for the buck in the middle to lower end atm as nvidia have only drastically lowered prices on there 3080 and above.

You can get a msi 3060 for £357 but if you can stretch tot he 3060ti then do that.

If you were looking at £480 for a 3060ti card the AMD 6750xt at £449 beats a 3070 if I remember correctly, but if you want to stick to nvidia the zotac 3060ti is cheaper and here on OCuk and zotac give a 5yrs warranty
Personally, I'd try and hang on a bit and see what announcements do to prices of current gen

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £870.48 (includes delivery: £10.50)

Something I don't believe that anyone has asked yet is what make and model psu do you have? Graphic card power draw has shot up with the latest gens and I wouldn't want you to spend a fortune on a new gpu only for it not to work (or worse) because the psu isn't up to the job.

Hang on for what… the 4090? The OP has a limited budget. Or waiting for prices to come down? Gods knows how long that will take… unless a 4060 is released in Sep 2022.

Case by case… everyone is in a different situation.

To the OP… go grab your GPU.
