Need New Hard Drive + Some Advice

Hi all,

Im in desperate need of a new Hard Drive. At the moment I only have a WD RAPTOR 36GB.

What I want to do buy a new drive (but which one?) do a reformat, install windows/apps/systems files on the raptor and keep the other for all my other stuff.

Would that be a good option?

Any advice appreciated.

The simple thing to do with a new drive is just add it in as a second drive. Windows will detect the new hardware, you jump into the Disk Management applet, create and format a partition on it and viola! a new drive letter appears in My Computer. No need to reinstall anything you can simply start moving media, documents etc off the Raptor onto the new drive.

As for a recommendation it depends on the size - over 200Gb then a Seagate 7200.10 of the appropriate size, under 200Gb (7200.10s not available less than 200Gb) then either a Seagate 7200.9 or one of the Hitachis.
