Need a new Headset for Gaming,

Currently have the Sennihesiser PC350 there very good really like them,
but the right earphone keeps dropping out & in after about 3.5 years usage.:(

it seems to drop out more if the cable is curled up, its starting to really annying me. i was gunna buy the same headset again, but thought i could get advice from you:D

i think ill probably get a new headset then let my mate fix my current one & keep it as a spare (hes great with soildering :D)

open to any budget thats worth it but rather be £200 or less

PC360's I'd guess. Either those, or some nice headphones and a separate mic. Do you have a sound card, or are you using onboard audio?

i have a Asus DX but it sucks so much bawls that im using onboard sound.

never could get my Mic to work correctly 24/7 there.

With that kinda budget I'd go with the Beyerdynamic dt770s and live with a clip on/desktop mic lol.

I really really like my Sennheiser PC163D for gaming I have to say, very light and comfortable for long gaming sessions, don't get hot to wear, crystal clear mic and very acceptable sound quality. Comes with a USB 7.1 DolbyHeadphone unit too which is quite decent tho you can use them with analog jacks to.

In what way does your Xonar DX suck? Dolby Headphone works great IMO.

I recommend the PC360 or AD700 or HD598. I also have a DT770/32 and find them to be not as good for positional audio/soundwhoring.

the mic is to quiet on the asus when you turn it up it work fine for a bit then you sound like a trekky then repeats.

I like my 360s. Only had them since Saturday so don't take that as a long-term review though. Mic is clear and the headset sounds great.

It's probably just a loose connection - have a peek inside or get the cable changed - much cheaper option.

If not I have some DT990's and they are impeccable for soundwhoring/positional. You can see where someone is round corners and through walls, just by the sound of the footsteps or reloading.

I have a pair of Tritton AX Pro's, 5.1 headphones designed for PC/PS3/360 with microphone. Great speakers for £120 odd. For stereo sound they are about as good as an £80 pair of headphones, but for the extra for surround sound is well worth it imo

Oh dear... going from some Sennihesiser PC350 to Plantronics 3xx would be a bit of a shock... (yes audio really can sound that bad).

Mid-range on them is fairly tight which is ok for gaming purposes - high end is quite indistinct tho and bass is loose and boomy, overall theres a large loss of definition compared to the likes of Sennihesiser PC350s which have a lot more detail to the sound.
