Need new host

I'm currently with Dreamhost as the first year was so cheap. I've had absolutely zero problems with them but I find them quite slow. I know dedicated boxes are considerably faster but I don't really have need of one.

So, I'm looking for shared hosting that is very fast but offers far less bandwidth and storage as a tradeoff. I use less than 1GB per month for bandwidth and am only using 750MB of space.

I don't mind paying a fair price for what I want.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Agreed. Vida are miles better than Dreamhost. Been with them for a fair while now and have absolutely no problems

^ 800kbps for me. (max speed my broadband can handle.)

Ping times are ~25ms.

another vote for Vidahost. I got nothing but good things to say about them. I've been with them for about 18 months have had nothing but every email answered and all the help I need. Good servers and good people working them.

And yet ANOTHER vote for Vidahost. They really do provide a good service, and the people running it are friendly and, most importantly, extremely knowledgeable.

It maxes out my broadband connection whenever I download a file off my site. Uploading speed is the same too, as fast as my connection allows.

Thanks guys! I'll be moving over to them just before my currrent paid period expires.

It'll be nice to have limited bandwith that I can use, rather than near unlimited which I can't.

Can't fault vidahost at all. Uptime is faultless (yes, I'm keeping an eye on it atm), they've just changed their packages so you're getting more for your cash and the service is fantastic. I've had a few requests of them recently and they've been stupidly helpful.
