Need new ISP

My brother has been activated through TitanADSL this morning and he gets 8128 sync and pretty similar download speeds to mine around the 780k+ region, but again he lives a little closer to the exchange.

You wouldn't pay £20 for 8Mbps for 30GB/300GB?

Or are you looking at the true price of an unlimited (contended) service? In which case it is still worth every penny if you need that kind of usage at any time.

how can it be unlimited when they have a cap on most of there packages
and most users take up most of there bandwidth at peak times

yes your right as in that 8Mbps for 30GB/300GB? is ok for the money
but the rest of them start to get high for a 8mbs connection.

that guys only getting just over 6mbs divaboy so really interleaving isnt needed
so i dont know why the isp even turned it on. i guess they switch it on for all of
there customers just to be safe. incase most of them have old lan lines

i find if you go past 10mbs most lines need it. coz if not there Noise Margin or Line Attenuation just drops out.

you will find most good isps that give you upto 8mbs are ok with low pings
but if you go over that you will have a higher ping when gaming

also divaboy i find it hard to beleave any isp with interleaving. will turn
it off for you. they add if for all adsl llu based connections from 16mbs+

titan and adsl24 seem to be abit pricey. but they do look like a good isp
i wouldnt pay that much for an 8mbs connection tho.

if i was looking for a new isp i would probly go for ukonline 8mbs

You must be joking?
I just went onto UKOnline website and they have offered me 2MB download speed and 256kbps upload speed for £25!
And you say Entanet are expensive at £19.99 for 8MB???
I think the prices listed on UKOnline are only for their LLU enabled customers.
We will be delivering broadband services to your BT phone line using BT's network, which means we are unable to offer you our lowest broadband prices. Although £9.99 broadband is not available in your area, you can still choose from our great unlimited broadband services below.

1MB UKOnline is the same price as 8MB from Entanet. I know which one I would rather choose!

BT enabled interleaving on my line, even though I have a stable 8128kbps line.
I am leaving them soon anyway and will ask my new ISP to turn it off.

Bt just turn it on by default , so you need to ask for it to be turned off ;)

Yes, I'll probably be going for TitanADSL, I sent them an email and they replied in 10 minutes  although I won't be switching for another month or so for various reasons.

so how does that work then, if i use the MAC code, what does that do?

Will it still go via nildram or does that just like a mobile phone when u ask the the PAC code? just so they can relase it to u so u can use the same number

a MAC code is just a bunch of numbers and letters which are assigned to your telephone number for 30 days! these letters and numbers (MAC) allow you to move from 1 isp to another.
