Need 2 maybe 3 tryes in 185/70/14H

Looked at the usally places and they are from £35-55 and I just dont know what to get any ideas on which models/brands are good?

What you looking for in a tyre?

Grip? Durability? Good all rounder?

at your size from mytyres I would say the Goodyear Eagle NCT5

If you are willing to drop a profile size and use 185/65/14 you could get Goodyear Hydragrips which seem to be pretty popular :)

Well want good grip in the rain as its now the winter months and good value for money..

if i change profiles i have to get a new set all round?

Right did some ringing and the following are instock/at "decent" prices;

Formula1
Bridgestone - B391 £45

Fastfit
Uniro £50
Goodyear GT2 £42

Motorcare
kumo £43 or 3for£38
Firestone 630 £50

Kwikfit
Dunlop (currently on car) £45

Etyre
Dunlop - SP300 £49
Bridgestone - B391 £42
Firestone 630 £49

Thinking of the dunlops as they seem okay..

Any ideas?

There isnt a single decent tyre mentioned in this thread. Non Proxes Toyo's are particularly poor.

Get some Goodyear Hydragrip or Continentals of some description for this budget, IMHO.

Around £80 cant find a local guy to do them cheap and kwif fit etc dont do internet prices :(

And cant wait for mytyres delivery as no spare and ones on the limit and it'd be just my luck..

Just play all the local suppliers off against each other asking if thats the best they can do. Works a treat. The first quote for my tyres from the place that eventually fitted them was... £620!

Well got Continental CH90 for £55 each good ? Or try something else ?

Or.. Mich 3a Energy £50 ec

Lastly..

They dont do hydra for my size but a Eagle NCT 5 for £45 inc.

Sorry about all the questions its just i know jack **** about tyres

The tyre monkey who fitted my Hydragrips yesterday was saying that Michelin Energy's were much better than the Hydragrips...

He then said "But what the customer wants... the customer gets" :p

Probably, but I wasn't particularly concerned about price.

Decent tyres make a world of difference.

I realise that... I always preach to get the best tyres one can afford. What I meant was maybe the tyremonkey was saying that GYHG were worse in case you changed your mind and bought the Michelins instead... and as he got them for cheaper than the GYHG he'd be making more money.
