I have a HDD with vista on it, but theres some files on there i want to copy over to my new HDD which has windows 7 on. If i take out my new HDD and put my old one back in with vista on will it boot up straight away etc, wont need to reformat or anything right?

If the HDD with Vista on it came out of the PC with the Windows 7 installation then you will be able to swop over drives and recover your data
