Another look would be towards the Cisco small business stuff. Something like a CBS250-48P-4X will give you 48 PoE ports and 10Gbps uplinks. The CBS series (previously SF/SG) uses a weird "tries to be Cisco IOS but isn't" platform but they work pretty well. Although, again unfortunately they are unlikely to be cheap.
You could potenitally look at the Mikrotik, TP-Link, Zyxel or NetGear ranges as they can sometimes be a bit cheaper but I'm not as familiar with their offerings
Good shout on TP-Link/Zyxel and the like. It's cheap, it's basic, it works. They are just a bit more limited in the feature set or hampered by the internal processor, but unless the OP is going to be hammering multiple 10 gig ports at a time, is unlikely to notice.
edit... I've just had a quick look on eBay, there's a 48 port Cisco 3750X with 4 port SFP card (2 are SFP+ ports) for £180. They are old switches now but still plenty fast and tbh, that's not too bad a price. These have come down a lot in recent years, probably due to them now being out of support with Cisco but still suitable for a non-mission critical environment.
There is also a Cisco 2960S-48PD-L (48 port PoE, 2x 10G SFP+) for £175 or a 3650-48PD-L for £235 (a bit newer than the 3750) to give a few more examples.
I'm sure there are plenty of HP switches of the same era for similar money.
You have quite a few choices OP... how much were you looking to spend and what is the use case?
