Hi All :p

I have been with nildram for a few years now but am no longer happy with the service as my download speeds have dropped by half most of the time and i am getting disconected every so offten.

I have herd that it has all gone downhill sine pipex has taken over and that many Nildram users have also desided its time to change.

Have been looking on this thread and have seen losts of sugestions which ISP to use.

I was looking at freedom to surf but i herd that they have also been taken over by pipx as well? Is this True? And if so would there be any point switching from Nildram - Freedom to surf?

Then i thought Eclipse, and is was sounding very good untill i saw that it was a 12month contract.

I am looking for an ISP that has

* One or no more than 3 months contract.
* Has an unlimated or a Cap no less than 40GB
* Will have a connection speed of 8meg.
* and finaly... it must not be any more than £26 a month.

Can any one recomned Such an ISP or am i just dreaming?
Shame as this is the package i get with Nildram but no longer stable download rates and random dropping out connection

Thanks 4 your time

I'm with Nilly atm, but I'm thinking of leaving too :(

I've been looking at joining either Aquiss or UKFS, more likely UKFS, having recently heard that they're spending more money on improving their existing networks hardware :)

Both ISP's have a nice choice of packages available :D

I know Aquiss/UKFS are on the Entanet network...

I'm with Namesco originally NDO, well they bought out NDO to add to their main hosting business.

I have had no problems with them just upgraded to Homemax+ from 1mbps service should be switched over on the 28th. I get 60gb data transfer (uploads aren't part of this) and unmeaterd off peak download on the bbmax so up to 8mbps. That package is £24.95 inc free router etc but i would phone them up and see if you can beat them down a bit as you don't need the router.

They recently got another central pipe and are looking into when to order their next one to allow for lead times etc so are quite forward thinking. :p

bye bye nildram hello aquiss

i was with nildram for almost 12 months up until a few days ago. As the year went on i saw a real drop in speeds. This didnt really bother me but what started to really wind me up was the constatnt drop off especially whilst playing BF2 and BF2142. I did some reading about and decided to go for Aquiss. only took a week to migrate over and so far so good - download speeds are good and online gaming is much better

go for aquiss
there is a 30 Gb on peak cap and and 300Gb off peak cap - cant remember what the times they specify for as being off peak though
all in all im quite impressed

You forgot the first rule - if you find an awesome ISP keep it quiet - the masses turn good ISP into a slow, laggy crap one with 2hr+ waits for customer service etc :p

Not had any problems for the past 4-5 years and the user base has kept growing. :)

Its a matter of cost, quality, performance and sustainability isps go down hill when they cant maintain this balance in fact that applies to must business models. :o

Not quite. Aquiss use the enta network, but are their own entity. They have their own internal networks whereas UKFSN use enta's completely.

Im with Aquiss atm. The enta network is currently at capacity meaning peak times (about 8pm till 1am) are pretty slow. They are having a new pipe installed during december and it should all be back to the normal fast speeds. During the day and early evening I get excellent speeds. Their support is excellent. The director has also given his word they will never traffic shape or port throttle but who knows.
