Need SATA150 drive

hi,

i have an ASUA P4C800 E-Deluxe motherboard and need a SATA 150 drive for it, just around 80gb to run the OS and programs on.

whereever i search i can only find the SATAII drives - will these work on my mobo? these are 300mb transfer.

Yes. But you may have to use a jumper to limit it to SATA 150 speeds.

You don't have to use the jumper since you will be restricted on the bandwidth anyway.

I have a new 250Gb single platter from Seagate in my machine without a jumper (refurbished one didn't come with it) and it works fine.

i have the exact same mobo and am running a sataII drive, no problems at all. and no jumpers needed either.

Thanks ive ordered the drive and ill give it a go without messing with the jumpers and see what happens.
