I bought a SanDisk Extreme 4TB Portable NVMe SSD and i was wondering if it would be possible to open it up and remove the nvme and put it in my second m.2 slot on my motherboard (MAG B550 TOMAHAWK). I don't want to damage it in any way as i am sure this will void any warranty.

Tom's hardware opened a v2
Not sure about v1
But v2 looks to have a wd Blue SN550E in it
Would be an expensive way to get an internal drive
And not a very fast one by nvme standards

Not every drive can be shucked from an external enclosure
So can't say for certain if it would work or not
It might have custom firmware
Or need the controller that's in the enclosure etc
