Need some BMW Advice

Interior looks a bit scabby and the 525d is a bit of a runt of the model range really. It's the least desireable colour and the least desireable spec. What has made you pick it?

I didnt think the interior looked scabby at all? I think the carpet marks have just been caused by a careless hoover - Price seems reasonable to me as I can't seem to find a similarly specced car for the price, I was however under the impression that the 530d is the more intelligent engine choice..

My dad asked me to look into a few options for his next car - initially he wanted a larger 4x4 than he already has (SWB Shogun) but I have convinced him he will get more for his money if he opts for a 5 series touring or similar - with this in mind, I found the car above and thought it fit the bill! Always welcoming suggestions from ocuk though, 530d a wiser choice?

Now thats very nice, looks very well looked after and it's a one owner which is how I prefer to buy BMW's. Could get that for £6.5k as well.

Pretty poor spec though, especially when compared to that 525d which you said was the least desirable spec! The 525d has bluetooth, electric sports seats, i-drive, window blinds, sunroof over what the 530d does. Also I much prefer the colour of the 525d personally although I think the wheels ming. The 525d has one owner from new as well. I think you're being a bit biased because one is a silver E39. ;)

Look at the rear belts in the through the roof pic. They look really dirty.

If its a facelift model then why does it have the old shape keys?

Also a 525d manual is probably the least desirable of all the options. It's not fast and it's not economical and it's not an automatic.

Also it's got no Navigation. Not a big thing but if you're spending that much on a car then it'd be nice to have.

I could be wrong however.

Alright lads, cheers for all the input - I have showed him both and he does like the E39, nice observation on the E60's seatbelts by the way!

Would like to show him some more examples but I am struggling at the moment! - if anyone thinks they could source something similar/better for around the 7k mark it would be much appreciated..

Once again thanks for all input!

it's actually got comfort seats, which are about 100 times better
that E60 is really well specced apart from the nasty boggo alloys

Is that not over priced? I know we all know it makes no difference but, could you get a 100K example for less than that?
