Hi, I've got around a £50 MAX budget here, I know this is not a lot and you proberbly have guessed with that budget I'm not looking for super decent stuff, I need a bike pump capable of pumping road bike tires up to 250Psi, an adequate helmet and one of those cage thing and a bike bottle for it.

Possible in a £50 budget? Oh and I need a new inner tube as my dad snapped the valve off , one that will do good, possible a self repairing one?

Thanks
Willz.

I try to make mine hard as a rock but its hard to get it up, usually need to use something power driven.

Topeak Joe Blow Sport Pump - £26.99
Met Volo Helmet - £19.99
Blackburn Competition Bottle Cage - £3.99
Focus Bottle 750ml - £1.99
Total - £52.96

Little bit over but I think you get a discount when you go over £50. There's a cheaper Topeak track pump but it says it only goes up to 120psi. I've got that Joe Blow Sport and can recommend it, piece of cake getting up to 120 although I don't think I've ever inflated my tyres beyond that. Don't think it's necessary for all the tyres I've used anyway. Don't know how good that helmet will look too :p

Thanks I'll get that pump, how do I know if the helmet will fit me? I dont want one thats going to make me look an idiot.

I was being facetious.

If you've got a Lidl close to where you live they've been doing some cracking deals on bike bits. You might find some of the floor pumps still in stock for silly money.

Trust me, either your gauge is faulty (or something) but your not going that high pressure wise. For 23mm road tires you are looking at a pressure of around 120psi max, some people prefer slightly higher and some lower. As the diameter of the tyre increases the pressure needed is reduced, so if you have a 25mm tyre then the same effect can be had at around 110psi and so on.

If money really is a big factor then Argos sell cheap track pumps with a gauge for less than a tenner. I used to have one, passed it on to my nephew since, and it was fine for what I needed it for.

Helmet wise go to your LBS. Specialized Air Force is a really good, quite stylish, and cheap helmet but it may not be right for you.

I'd rather buy a Blackburn pump for £30 that I know will last and not break at an inconvenient moment. You wouldnt buy an £15 PSU.

I bought a bikehut pump for 15 quid, and been using it and it seems fine, also got 2 continental inner tubes after having a puncture 8 miles from home on the rear tyre on friday and one 4 miles from home on the front yesterday, I'm so unlucky.

Do you have a lot of Punctures?
Out of interest what did the puncture holes look like?

Puncture hole was like a round hole with abit of a split around it, like an eye ball?

Weird thing was I think it was on the underside towards the wheel frame so nothing should have been able to get to that side???
