Need Some Help, CDJ Noob

I'm the same as you...still using Final Scratch v1. I haven't found reason to upgrade it to be honest. My only slight annoyance with it is a buzzing, almost like it's not earthed. I think that may just be my unit though...it's been through the wars. It's not too noticable until it's plugged into a pa although I've had to do some serious noise reduction on a couple of tracks I've used it on. There's not a huge difference between FS and SL though. It has a nicer UI from what I've seen although nothing that would make me want to spend the extra cash on SL.
I was on DJ Cheebas page today, http://www.djcheeba.com/ and he was going on about how serato timecode vinyls can now be used to control video, so I guess for live work this is a bonus, but for mixes I think Final Scratch is fine and I've never had it crash on me. One thing with the buzzing, I found experimenting with earthing helped a little, I put the earth wire from my 1210's onto the outside (ground) connection on the phono plug and my buzzing went away completely. As for PA, that can be a bit different, I've found flipping the "ground lift" switch on some amps can help, but often bigger soundsystems have LMS units do not have this which can be a pain.

If the sound engineer at the gig knows his onions, he should be able to fix the buzzing, it can often be fixed with a little trial and error. :)
On the second note...I can assure you that's not me but I think I know who you mean. It was all fine when I hadv that name in 91 (before Google was an option) although not so good these days. I only produce a few Scottish and Australian mc's these days so not too bothered about the name although I was pretty annoyed a few years ago when I was still doing it seriously and it was brought to my attention. UK hip hop isn't big enough for that cheek.Haha!

Nice tune, that sounds very different to other Switch I've heard in the past, the styles are different enough to avoid confusion. ;) There are 2 people called DJ D-star also, one from New York who plays hip-hop and does scratching, while there is another one who spins Dn'B who I think is from the UK. So far I've heard of no one else using the name Vertex when making music so I think I've avoided a lot of hassle...
