nope, your wrong. it all depends on if you have single or dual rank ram.
i run 2 x dual rank sticks, but if the was singles rank you would get more performance running 4 sticks.

BUT thats said in the real world its mmmm differance now days.

4 sticks does decrease maximum base ram speed as per the specifications on amd's website, as the am5 platform all use the same I/o I'll presume it's the same for all

Whether this is offset with the greater capacity I don't know, but I remember plenty of people advising against buying and installing 4 sticks of ram on the am5 platform.

Whether this is noticeable or not in real world performance I couldn't say,

Although I've linked the 7700x (as that's the CPU I have) I've looked at the other am5 CPU's and they all seem to be the same.
