Need some help with 1TB hard drive

i really need some help with

Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB ...

which i purchased and am trying to get it to work with my new setup, problem is i have a 500gb hitachi hd which my windows 7 os is pre loaded onto, my problem comes as those 2 drives are seen in the bios and in the device manager on my os connected via sata just for refrence. They are not however seen in my computer only my 500gb hd is recognized, in the device boot device priority in my bios i can only set the hitachi hd and when i go to an empty slot to select my samsung hd to put it in say 2nd boot order it is not there! now when i switch boot settings configuration to boot the samsung 1st then hitachi is not there and they cancel each other out, samsung said to format and partion using fdsisk but how is this possible if i dont have a drive letter and not showing in my computer? Very puzzeled please help!

I don't know about the BIOS boot order issues but in Windows you need to initialise and format the disk.
Type partition into the start menu search and go to the create and format partitions (or whatever) thing. Then it'll let you do this.

yep abscence seems to do the trick just done it with the win 7 disk i got and now all is awesome with 2 tb of stoage.
