Hi everyone,

I recently had to throw out my old z5500 PC speakers which I had been wanting to replace for a while but never got around to looking for a replacement. The sub blew eventually and it was just sounding bad in general after a lot of fairly heavy use from house party's and that. The system had a fairly decent sub woofer how ever and I am looking with a budget now of £500 for something to replace the z5500 with. I want something that has as good if not louder and better bass than the z5500 although I haven't got the slightest clue on what I need to get etc and how things connect so if anyone would be able suggest something that would be sweet, I can probably push to £600 but would want something with a really nice punch for that price!

thanks,

For £500 though you could get a cheap NAD amp and some B&W 686 which would obviously be better.

True. Depends on the space OP has to play with though. MM-1's for the quality are very unobtrusive. 686's are great speakers for the price, but distinctly larger, not really desk size.
