Hello all.

I just got my new msi 6970 lightning today and not having much luck i have installed the card, and install the new drives. First thing I notice was I can't change the resolution up from 1400 x 1050. My monitor runs at 1080p.

I have been in to Device Manager and the pc is picking up the graphics card but there is exclamation mark under it. Also in Device status is.

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

Before i put the new card in I did a fresh windows 7 installation, and updates. also when i downloaded the ati drivers it come up with. Cannot load file or assembly 'CLI.implementation.

Thanks Seb

Iv Got mine too today , had no problems , Though I didnt use the disk , If you havent already try online at the AMD sites , Or msi live like it says on the literature .
Im not really an expert but If I still had no joy , I would re install me old card , thus overwritting all the changes you have done , then re starting again with downloaded
drivers , Pain I know .

Hey ross

I downloaded the ati drives off the web site. My old card is a GTX 295, that is why i did a fresh windows 7 installation, I thought it would be better then just deleting the nvidia drivers. I might just start again :( its going to be a long night.

Ohhh lets hope not that bad , Think you need someone who knows there AMD driver stuff , Im coming from Nvidia too , But on your last point , That fresh installation guess its off disk , this is my guess but the stuff on there is years old , and you got a couple of days ahead with a zillion updates every time you log off , Whilst I dont think the card is perhaps as old as you W7 copy mutch was coded before this card was made , think your have to let it catch up with those updates .

use driver sweeper to clear your old drivers, restart in safe mode, use driver sweeper again, then reboot normally and reiinstall the drivers again

When you said "Before i put the new card in I did a fresh windows 7 installation". That is the wrong way round. What you should have done is put the new 6970 in your pc and then installed windows. You then make sure you install the motherboard drivers and then, after that, install the AMD drivers for your 6970.
