Need Some Help With overclocking

MB: Asus P5N-E SLi
RAM: 2GB Corsair dominator
GFX: GeForce GT220
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 6320 @ 1.86 GHz (2 CPUS) ~1.9

Need anything else?

Not sure about heatsink what is it and how do I find out?

if you don't know anything about heatsink its probably a stock cooler.

just take side panel off and take a look to see what kind of heatsink + fan you have.

but I dont know what im looking for lol I got 1 fan on my CPU and 1 on the front of my tower think I got 1 more somewhere aswell

I guess you've not done any serious overclocking before, so my advise would be to just read some guides first, and take it steady at first, there are plenty of guides on the web. You will more than likely need to upgrade your CPU heatsink and possibly case cooling also. When you overclock component temperatures can increase which can lead to instability and possible damage to your system so yea do some homework first.

if you are seriously considering overclocking as an option then i would recommend getting a new cooler, you can get a decent one for about £30 and they would give you a lot more temp headroom.

in my experience going even a little above stock volts with a stock cooler can lead to temperature problems.

you might be able to get a bit of an increase in speed on stock volts but be careful with the auto setting on Vcore... this is NOT stock voltage it is variable and in some cases sets the voltage much higher than it needs to be.

hope this helps

Asking specific questions is fine but you need to research the topic yourself. Overclocking isn't something you can just blindly jump into. Before you spend any money look up some overclocking guides for your CPU and see if you still want to do it once you know what's involved.

as far as im aware, overclocking is different for each mobo/cpu. my old rig, i had to change things like the FSB etc. My new sandybridge, i just had to change to multiplier and put bit more volts through it. so read lots and lots. I had to read a few articles on my setup before i considered it. and then its different for an individual chip, what i could get, u might not.
