As the Title suggest,

But I want to start by apologising if any of this is stupid, I know a bit about PCs but not one to say if this is better than that etc,

So I want to know if it best for me to Buy a whole new PC or just get a few bits for mine, To clear up im not looking for a pc to play Crysis 2 on full specs, I recently got Mass Effect 1 and would love to play games like Mass Effect 2 smoothly Either low or Medium etc.

Motherboard : Asus P5GD1
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1536MB RAM
Hard Drive: 250 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT
Monitor: 19" 1400x900
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.090206-1233)

Any help would be useful Budget is any where upto 400-600 pounds can go higher if you really think it could help a lot :)

Regards

Hi renegade,
I had a look at your system specs and they can be improved.
The P4 chip is a old chip by todays standard but given support should be fine for most games.

I would look at your ram and get 4gb in there for a massive improvement and a reasonable graphics card at about £150 would run well at your resolutions.
Do you have any prefernece in gfx cards? ATI or Nvidia?
These improvements should cost about £250.
but you need to check the wattage and the connectors on your power supply

If I were to spend £400 or more I would be looking at new build myself.

considering the fact that you are willing to spend £600+ id go for a completely new build, but keep the 19" monitor.
Also do you have a copy of XP OS?
