need some help

Hey built my first rig today and now i need help setting up my SSD and HDD, i installed window 7 straight onto the SSD no problem, now ive connected up my Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II which i can see in the CMOS setup utility but i cant see it in windows.

Under CMOS utilitys i see

IDE Channel 0 master [Samsung HD103sj]
IDE Channel 0 Slave [none]
IDE Channel 1 master [OCZ-VERTEX2]
IDE Channel 1 Slave [None]

Im guessing i have to make the samsung a slave but how do i do that ? :confused:

The master/slave thing is just the BIOS manufacturer being confusing, the concept doesn't exist with SATA.

What you need to do is go into Disk Management in Windows (right click on My Computer and pick Manage) then partition and format the Samsung drive.

click START, right click Computer, left click manage, select Disk Management.

I'll assume you can see both drives.

Click on your Samsung drive and allocate / format as necessary.
