Hi Guys,

I am having really trouble installing any games on my windows vista 64-bit set-up. Basically I keep getting errors when I try and install games - it happens if I attempt to install it on any of my HD's which I find strange. I have two Sony DVD drives and each one does the same thing. It seems that the information is not getting copied or something, any suggestions as I cannot install from the drives?

Hi and thanks for the reply, yes the computer lists them in device manager as working:

SONY DVD RW AW-G170A SCSI CdRom Device

I have run out of ideas, I can't install any games at all

hmmm - for some reason it lists my cdrom drives in removable storage, is that correct  I guess it is...

They function normally, like open and close etc..

that sounds right, under the media listings. right-click on them, select properties, and make sure the "Enable Media" checkbox is checked.

Hi mate, thanks for the replies - i think I have nailed the problem. I took out 2 gigs of ram so I now have 2gb left and the games are installing no problems at all:confused:

It is a recent build and the extra 2 gigs are only a few weeks old are they dud? All other programmes have been working fine and I have been playing Bioshock which installed on two gigs of ram, but I then upgraded to 4, and it still played fine? but I could not install any games - any suggestions?

Hi guys,

Just reporting that if I put the recent ram back into the PC I get the same installing problems as before, so it seems the ram I purchased two weeks ago is faulty?

Thanks for your help.
