Hey there,

Couple of week ago I bought a HG612 and had problems with trying to get to the firmware page of the modem. I had tried everything possible, from help here and constant double checking and re-going over what was written on the how to pdf for it. Anyway I put it down to an issue with that modem.

So just bought another and managed to get to the 612 CP (BTW it's already moded) I've also grabbed the stats tools package "HG612_Modem_Stats_Programs-r5.1"

The problem or I'm just stuck here (prolly me) I can only get to the 612 CP via changing IP address on my network card to 192.168.1.100 and an ethernet cable from pc to lan2. The question I have is, can you stat monitor your line and get to the 612 modem CP whilst there's a network connection?

Example: Things back to normal - Ethernet cable back into Asus router, ethernet cable from lan port from Asus router back into lan1 of modem and resetting the network card back to a different IP range (or automatic Ip range) as that's the only way I can get an internet connection.

Not sure if anyone can follow what I'm saying here... I really don't know how else to put it.

If anyone understands this that would kindly help, I'd be grateful.

EDIT: I also cannot telnet to the modem whilst I have a net connection, but can when it's just one enternet cable from PC to LAN2 of modem and Network card IP changed to 192.168.1.100

1) Change the LAN IP of the modem to match the rest of your network. If the router is 192.168.1.254, make the modem 192.168.1.253
2)Connect the modem's LAN2 port to a spare LAN port on the ASUS.
