Need some none biased input (work oppoutunity)

You need to look after number 1 Kahn... You.

Do what's best for you, if youre previous company is the best one for you, go for it and don't look back.

The Newcastle company took you on because they could afford to at the time and would have needed your services, not because they are a charity. If the shoe was on the other foot, they wouldn't hesitate to let you go, business is business.

Thank them very much for the opportunities they have afforded you, take your leave of them and start a new life with a good reference.

I suppose, its hard as the company has been good and knew fully why I was moving back to newcastle and have been understanding during the past year and a half when i've had to drop things to go home etc.

Now thats not the case I'm in a job I enjoy but not as much as the last one on less than I was before and working in an office where hardly no one speaks to each other.

I'd leave.

Thank your current employer for the understanding they showed, and go celebrate a promotion :)

It's still not deffinate yet, but looking like it could happen next week, I will find out then but I know that they were looking at me for when they were going to open up recruiting again, but the senior engineer leaving has opened it up early.

Aberdeen is where the work is for anything Oil and Gas related. Pay is higher than average too. Going back there myself next week.

No-one in the world will blame you for going back to something you enjoy more and that has better future opportunities. If they do, they really aren't people worth worrying about.
