Well I think it's a matter of opinion that the DS has "better games". Surely if you are of that opinion, the DS is a no-brainer? After all, aren't games the primary reason for getting one? :D

I would say if you've got a PS3, then a PSP is a good purchase.

ill play games on both but i like the idea of watching movies as well as its about an hour travel and as long as the battery lasts both ways its fine. the PSP is higher spec too, what software can i install on the PSP other than games ?

Okay. The fact is.
God of War: Chains of Olympus is awesome.

Seriously, it's amazing what they've managed to get out of the PSP. A forum user here has loaned me his copy of it and I'm blown away. I'd genuinely say it's as good as anything on the PS3 right now, and better than anything I've played on the DS Lite (which I also own), it's that good.

And I didn't like PSP that much before this (though I do enjoy Daxter). If you get a PS3 later on as well the PSP becomes one hell of an add-on.

DS is the best if you want to play just games on it. If you want more advanced media capabilites then get the PSP, but games are so much better on the DS.

you can install a mini OS on it, and from there, sky's the limit! actually, PS1 games and divx media is the limit.

i'm glad i kept a lot of my PS1 games, cant believe its been 10years now

Hi you mentioned, "train" are you planning to use this on a daily commute?

I have both and have commuted in London for years. To be honest it's a no brainer if you are on trains. The touchscreen on DS is not perfect precision to start with, you add in the moving trains and it is not much fun at all tbh.

I can't think I am alone in this, every person I see on the train with a handheld, 90 % are PSPs and he ones that are DS are usually being played by a child with a parent on the train etc. I found playing games like Yoshi's Island, Warioware very hard to play whilst on a moving train (granted those 2 rely on touch screen interface a lot).

For multimedia it is a no brainer as well to be honest.

I take mine with me everyday on the train. Like Nokkon says GoW: COO is amazing although my commute is 15 minutes in each direction at the moment so it is slow going at the moment :)

Heh, I finished the hardest level on Elite Beat Agents on a train - guess I have a steadier hand ;)

Get one of these and a suitcase full of batteries :D
